The “Grassroot” is the quarterly newsletter of Kenya Community Media Network (KCOMNET). KCOMNET is the umbrella network that engages in the promotion and development of community media in Kenya through five program areas: capacity development, content development, networking, research, and policy advocacy. The Grassroot is the flagship newsletter of the network that provides insightful stories and commentaries on community media engagements and developments. The identity of the publication is inspired by the fact that community media groups are the heartbeats of grassroots communities all over the world. They inform, educate and entertain on the concerns, priorities, hopes and dreams of grassroots communities in a variety of community media outlets, including community radio, newsletters, theatre, art, music, among others.
